Holy Monday Reflection

On Holy Monday, the Tridentine liturgy leads us to Bethany, where Mary anoints Jesus’ feet with costly perfume—a silent act of love before the Passion. Judas sees waste; Jesus sees preparation for burial. This day invites us to examine our love for Christ: is it sacrificial, or calculating? Like Mary, we are called to pour out what is precious before the Cross, loving Him while there is still time. Holy Monday is the fragrance of love before the silence of suffering.
