Today’s homily: Passion Thursday (2025)
On Passion Thursday, Azarias’ prayer in the fire and the sinful woman’s tears both reveal true sacrifice: a contrite heart. Without temple or offering, Israel pleaded for mercy; without merit, the woman loved and was forgiven. At St. Apollinaris, we recall that holiness comes through repentance, not respectability. Like Magdalene, let us pour out love at Christ’s feet, trusting His mercy, and prepare to follow Him to Calvary with hearts ablaze and sins confessed.
