Today’s homily: Passion Wednesday (2025)

On Passion Wednesday, at San Marcello, the Church recalls Leviticus’ call to holiness—truth, justice, and love of neighbor—echoing through Christ’s words: “I and the Father are one.” As the Temple is rededicated, the true Temple, Christ, is rejected. St. Marcellus, like Christ, upheld God’s law amid persecution. The faithful are called to interior purification, not empty fasting, but holiness in word and deed—rededicating the soul as a temple for the approaching Lamb.
