Today’s homily: Pentecost Tuesday (2025)

On Pentecost Tuesday, the Church invites us to reflect on the Gift of Understanding—*Intellectus*—by which the Holy Ghost enlightens the soul to grasp divine truths deeply. As Peter and John laid hands on the baptized Samaritans, so too does Confirmation bestow this light. Understanding lets us see beyond outward signs to the mystery within—Christ as the Door, the Shepherd, the Sacrifice. It opens our hearts to Scripture, liturgy, and doctrine as living realities of grace.
