Today’s homily: St. Ubaldo of Gubbio (2025)
St. Ubald of Gubbio (1084–1160), a holy bishop and reformer, embraced poverty, prayer, and pastoral charity. As a Canon Regular, then Bishop of Gubbio, he governed with humility, courage, and holiness, famously saving his city from imperial attack by his sanctity alone. The readings today reflect his faithful stewardship and priestly virtue. Canonised in 1192, he remains a model for bishops and a patron against anger and spiritual affliction. Sancte Ubalde, ora pro nobis.
